Lands End Limos Take the Stress Out of Travel

Let's face it.  Travel can be very stressful.  Whether the trip you are taking is for business or pleasure, getting from point A to point B requires careful planning. Even then, it easy to be derailed and alternate plans are needed. The difficulty is magnified when the travel is in a large city congested with traffic.

Logan International Airport in Boston is a major hub which you may have frequent reasons to use.  Unfortunately, traffic around the airport can make getting to and from a stressful nightmare. Fortunately, our limo drivers are experienced with Boston travel and are familiar with various routes to help limit delays.  You and your fellow travelers can sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride as our professional drivers deliver you directly to your airline.

No worries about parking, cabs, traffic, or directions can greatly reduce the stress of travel and allow you relax and focus on fun or business.  Call Lands End Limousines to schedule your next trip to Logan!

Newport - Made To Be In The Movies!

Once again, our beautiful Newport, RI was chosen as the setting for a major motion picture. Hollywood stars in the film Moonrise Kingdom worked, played, and enjoyed our local culture.

Moonrise Kingdom was filmed in Rhode Island last summer, based out of Newport. The cast of the film includes Ed Norton, Bill Murray, Frances McDormand, Bruce Willis, Tilda Swinton, and Harvey Keitel. The cast members stayed at the Vanderbilt Grace Hotel and were seen enjoying themselves at Perro Salado, the Hotel Viking's Top of Newport, and watching a Newport Gulls game.

Moonrise Kingdom opens in theaters at the end of this month.  Why not schedule a tour of Newport and then watch for familiar sights in the movie? Call Lands End Limousines to schedule and we will be happy to show you the magnificent sights of Newport!

Because People Like This Are Driving ......

The recent weather has been dreary and many people have been complaining that they feel down, so Lands End Limousines would like to bring some laughter to your day.

Please enjoy this list of funny driving stories people have reported to their insurance companies. Oh, and by the way, these will also highlight why you might be safer traveling in a car with a professional driver!

  • To avoid hitting the bumper of the car in front I struck a pedestrian.
  • A pedestrian hit me and went under my car.
  • A truck backed through my windshield into my wife's face.
  • I was on the way to the doctor with rear end trouble when my universal joint gave way causing me to have an accident.
  • My car was legally parked as it backed into another vehicle.
  • Coming home I drove into the wrong house and collided with a tree I don't have.
  • I thought my window was down, but I found it was up when I put my head through it.
  • An invisible car came out of nowhere, struck my car, and vanished.
We hope this helped brighten your day!

Who's Going to Prom?

Dresses, tuxes, and flowers oh my!  It must mean it's prom time! So much planning goes into this once, or maybe twice, in a lifetime event. Typically the plans focus on fashion and fun.

For those young enough to be attending prom this spring, life should be about fashion and fun.  Plan to enjoy the night with your closest friends and you will create memories you will share forever.  Plan to look good with your date and you will create photos to share forever.  In addition to fashion and fun, please remember to plan for safety.  Plan a safe night and you will be around to share the memories and photos forever.

Please designate a driver for the night whether it be one of your friends, a parent, or hire a limo and choose your destinations wisely. It takes just one moment to create devastating memories instead of magical memories.

Lands End Limousines wishes you all a memorable and safe prom!

The Historical Mansions of Newport, RI

As the warmer weather approaches, it is the perfect time to plan a trip to Newport, RI.  One of the famous, must see tourists sites are the famed Newport Mansions.  Lands End Limousines proudly shares a brief overview of some of the mansions you can tour.

The Elms
Rosecliff
Bellevue Avenue is home to most of the beautiful mansions. The first house to be built on Bellevue Avenue is  Chateau Sur Mer.  The Elms is located on Bellevue Avenue close to the center of town and is easily accessible by foot. Isaac Bell House has been recently restored and is one of the best surviving examples of shingle style architecture in this country.  A landmark of the Gothic Revival style is the Kingscote Mansion, also located on Bellevue Avenue. The Vanderbilt family built a home utilizing 500,00 cubic feet of marble in its construction.  The home is aptly named Marble House.  Known for  hosting most of the lavish parties of the Gilded Age, Rosecliff mansion still hosts weddings and events today. If you're interested in art, Rough Point holds one of the area's most remarkable collections of private art.  The home once belonged to American tobacco heiress Doris Duke and some of her personal items and furnishings can still be viewed.

Goodbye to Salas Restaurant

Salas restaurant has been a fixture in downtown Newport since 1956.  It is a family style Italian restaurant which serves Asian food and seafood as well.

Salas has been a favorite spot for families to relax and spend time together.  A sign hangs in the entry which says that unattended children "will be given an espresso and a free puppy." This is an example of the casual atmosphere which can be readily enjoyed by families.

Lands End Limousines would like to thank Salas for many years of great service and delicious food. Your wonderful restaurant will be missed!

And of course the famed centerpiece of the display, the “Laughing Tree,” will be back in all its spooky splendor. Visitors will be dazzled by hundreds of glowing jack-o-lanterns on the ground and in the branches, from tiny sugar pumpkins to gigantic gourds reaching up to 1600 pounds!
